Indra Net is an experimental social networking platform collaboratively created by Takakurakazuki, visual language researcher Junko Shimizu, and SIGNING engineer Makoto Amano. Indra Net does not feature a conventional timeline; instead, only a single post is displayed in a circular arrangement around each user’s account. Posted “words” return to the mountain after a certain period of time, and the words accumulated in the mountain are eventually launched into the sky like fireworks. Through this cyclical structure, statements are detached from immediate consumption and evaluation, and are reconfigured over time.
This work draws on the metaphor of Indra’s Net from Huayan Buddhism. The worldview in which countless jeweled nodes reflect one another, lacking a center and maintaining relations of mutual interpenetration, is reconstituted as a spatial arrangement of language in digital space. In contrast to contemporary social media environments marked by polarization and perpetual outrage, Indra Net is conceived as an attempt to dismantle the hierarchies and tensions produced by one-directional timelines and to restore the relational depth and resonance inherent in language.

『インドラネット』は、たかくらかずき、視覚言語研究者の清水淳子、SIGNING所属エンジニアの天野真によって共同制作された実験的なSNSである。インドラネットには一般的なタイムラインが存在せず、各ユーザーのアカウントの周囲には、ひとつの投稿のみが円形に表示される構造を持つ。投稿された「ことば」は、一定の時間が経過すると山へと還り、山に蓄積されたことばは、やがて花火のように空へと打ち上げられる。この循環的な構造により、発言は即時的な消費や評価から切り離され、時間とともに再配置されていく。
本作は、華厳思想における「インドラの網」の比喩を参照している。無数の珠が相互に映し合い、中心を持たずに相即相入の関係を保つこの世界観を、デジタル空間における言語の配置として再構成した。分断や炎上が常態化した現代のSNS環境に対し、インドラネットは、一方向的なタイムラインが生み出すヒエラルキーや緊張感を解体し、「ことば」が本来持つ関係性や余韻を回復するための試みとして構成されている。
